We have noticed quite a trend in these quarter finals, the old versus the new. This time, for the third match, it was the 2018 runners up Naggo Head Primary out of St. Catherine up against first timers, Sts. Peter and Paul Prep from St. Andrew.
Per usual, section one appears to be a bit of a warm up for the teams, and it would usually be somewhat difficult to pin point a winner. The teams proudly displayed their knowledge of Jamaica and our tourism sector, as well as content usually reinforced in the classroom. At the end of this section, Sts. Peter and Paul was at 7 points, a mere three points less than the leading Naggo Head.
By section two, however, the match started intensifying with the students spewing as much tourism facts as possible. Naggo Head outdid their opponents by managing to add another 10 points, taking their score to 20. Sts. Peter and Paul, at this point had lost their close trail and were now 7 points behind the 2018 runners up.
The third section, the tourism challenge proved not so much of a challenge for Naggo Head, who clearly had improved their strategy. At the end of the match, they had an impressive 31 points, while Sts. Peter and Paul managed to add three more points, bringing their grand total to 17 points.
Tune in this Thursday May 30th for the final match in this round when new comers Mona Preparatory and St. Francis Primary will battle for the last semi-final spot.
