Guests and locals benefitted from a free Christmas craft fair hosted by the Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo) on Friday December 13, 2019. The event, dubbed ‘Crafting for Christmas: Give a craft that counts” was held at the Emancipation Park in Kingston.The event which commenced at 10 am until 6 pm is a move by TPDCo’s craft team to give craft producers and traders recognition and support. To achieve this objective of generating awareness and appreciation for the local craft industry, persons skilled in art and craft were given the opportunity to showcase work from over thirty local producers’ authentic handcrafted collections. Apart from craft pieces, other items sale included clothing and jewelry, skincare products, leathercraft and more.
Other activities included a lunch hour and After Work concert, at 12 pm and 4 pm respectively. The concerts included performances by 2016 and 2018 JCDC festival winner Nazzleman, multiple JCDC awardee signer Candy, Violinist Michael Wilson, St Theresa Prep dance group, Fab 5 and veteran Ernie Smith.
