The third quarter final match was between the Kingstonians. In tourism we call this busy commercial/resort area “the heartbeat of Jamaica”. Ranging from a Minister of Religion to pilot, these students showed why they were on their school’s quiz teams. St. Richard’s Primary from Red Hills Road and Ardenne Prep from Hope Road not only churned out answers from the quiz subject areas, but their emotions showed that both teams were ready to win. In the first section, Ardenne maintained a close lead over St. Richard’s Primary with a 8 – 6 point standing, in section two, Tourism in 90 seconds, Ardenne Prep had only one point to brag over their opponent, as the points stood at 16 – 15. This was arguably the most nail biting match of all. With their eyes on the semi-finals and not holding back, these trailblazers battled to the end with only a two point difference. It was Ardenne Prep who emerged victorious with a 24 point standing over St. Richard’s which scored 22. Close match!
Kudos to both teams and our future leaders!
The TPDCo Tourism Quiz was created to familiarize Primary level students about Jamaica’s tourism product.
